Leigh Centurions
Aimhigher Week and Leigh Centurions:  Aimhigher Week produced some very positive publicity for the work of Aimhigher in all ten Greater Manchester authorities and in the national press.

This included a visit by Channel M to film young people from Leigh schools at the Leigh Centurions Rugby League match on Sunday June 14th.  This is the culmination of a ten week project with the club, funded by Aimhigher, in which young people study all aspects of running a sporting business and take responsibility for organising activities to entertain spectators at half time on the pitch and before the match.  They chose a tropical theme and got the weather to suit, which provided a good excuse for wet sponge activities, a gymnastics display, hula skirts and some hot designs on the programme and posters.  Channel M hope to show the piece on Tuesday this week but we've provided some pictures as a taster.  Sadly, Leigh Centurions lost the match but will be encouraged to aim higher next time...
